2014 was the year I have been introduced to so many brands whether Drugstore, High end or Luxury brands makeup and skincare wise but I have realised after watching so many Youtube videos about makeup collection, I get it looks nice to have a bunch of stuff to choose from when you are doing your makeup but I feel it is not worth it - especially with the money and space.
I have finally come to my senses that less is more. Why spend a lot of money buying multiple drugstore brands of the same kind for the sake of just trying it out since it is the fad in the society right now and not because you really genuinely love the product or just save it up to buy that one luxury foundation or blush you wanted right?
I don't really use drugstore brands that much because not all of them really works out for me except for the lip products (I have NYX, Revlon and Maybelline) my rule with lip products if it is not matte, I won't buy it same for High end and Luxury brands. Also another point I would like to make is using up all my products before I buy another one - I mean unless it's a limited edition release, go for it girl buy everything if you want but if it is a staple line what's the fuzz right?
I want to maintain my vanity with things that I really like and I really use + what's really working on my skin not what other people is telling you to try out. What will you see below are the products I've used up, either I love it too much that I will repurchase it or I hate it that I swear I regret buying it.
Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel: This one though. To be honest when I heard about this product since it is a best-seller I thought it was expensive like more or less $20 or so but I was surprise that it is only $5-$6 only. I MEAN GIRL, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS IN YOUR VANITY YOU NEED TO RE-EVALUATE YOUR LIFE. HAHAHAHA! This product is an all-around magic worker, you can use it for dry skin, dry hair, as lotion or a moisturiser. I totally out for words for this. You really have to buy it plus it smells good too. I am off to my second tub!
Nature Republic Magic Remover Facial Tissue: Another product that is life-changing for me. I am nearing to finish my second stash, I am off to my third one!
Pond's Age Defense Multi-Benefit Illuminating Cream SPF15 PA++: Pond's products are either hit or miss with my skin. One time they will work then the next I feel questioning myself what I have done wrong to have all this acne roaming around my face but with this certain line I feel like a billion bucks, not only does it gives glowing effect in my skin it also leaves softness and it helps clear out easily my acne spots. Sucks though that they don't have the actual packaging anymore so I have to settle to get a ton of packs for this one.
Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream in Glow: As you can see this is only a sample size but I am feeling to buy the actual full size after I finished up my Nature Republic CC Cream. It really serves it purpose to give you a glowing effect from within. It is not that sticky and lightweight. One thing I hate with some BB and CC creams they are very thick and heavy on the skin, gives you an uncomfortable feeling.
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum Express: My only negative comment regarding with this one that it dries out easily, I think after I used for 10-15 times? I don't know if I just got a bad one or what but I have saved up the brush wand cause it is a good one. I am still debating if I am going to get this again though.
YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils: Hahahaha yes this is a YSL Mascara. It is a good mascara and smells good too but I am not really convince that it is worth SGD 38.00 I paid in Changi Airport and the gold detailing of YSL really fades easily which is for me is really tacky. Like what I did with the wand of Maybelline, I also save YSL wand because they are good, too good.
Victoria's Secret Dazzling Kiss with Diamond Dust: This was a gift from my friend who stayed for awhile in North Carolina. I like this one, not so sticky and smells really good. I am still debating if I am going to get this one but I have going through around Victoria's Secret stores and I can't see this one.
Tresemmé Smooth & Shine Shampoo: My first ever Tresemmé Shampoo, I think I have through about 3 bottles of this line and this one was the fourth one. I have long and thick hair so I really have used up a lot of shampoo and conditioner when I take a bath. I am currently obsessed with Palmolive Shampoo which is a all-natural product so I think I won't be going for my 5th bottle anytime soon.
Glutamax Lightening Soap with Glutathione: I have been the darkest of the darkest I have been when I first arrived in America 2 years ago so I made a point to get back on my original skin tone. I am not really aiming to really white but just fair skin. This soap really helps me get back to my old tune. Not only it whitens but also it keeps my skin super soft. I am currently finishing my third soap and looking to use many more in the future.
Etude House I Need You Mask in Green Tea and Lemon: TOP 3 IN MY HOLY GRAIL FACE MASKS. CASE CLOSED!
Tony Moly Pureness 100 Shea Butter Mask Sheet: TOP 2 IN MY HOLY GRAIL FACE MASKS. END OF STORY!
Escada Cherry In The Air: One of my regrets when I had it 2 years ago. I should have got the full size because I believe this is a limited edition scent of Escada. So I made it a point to be really stingy with this perfume, I only use it on special events that I have to go to and just weeks ago I bid goodbye to this lovely scent.
Chanel Inimitable Mascara: I had this from my Chanel Duty Free Travel Altitude Palette. I actually like it a lot because it really gives volume plus the small wand so you can use in your lower lashes but what's stopping me in buying this exact kind is not water-proof and boy it hurts a lot in the eyes when it smudges. Not really winning for me in that part.
K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner: I don't love this seriously but my mom is. Haha!
Dior Liquid Eyeliner: I have so-so feeling with this eyeliner. It takes long to dry out which is not helping for me because I have monolids but that's my only issue with this product, let see in the future though.
Majorlica Majorca Lash King: Not really purchasing this again. It clumps, smells really bad and the formula is really something makes you irk. A lot of people are raving about this but I really don't get, at all.
Elizabeth Arden Cheekcolor Ombre a Joues in Pink Glow: I believe this has a new packaging if I am not mistaken. I am too inlove with the blush Bobbi Brown sent me last Christmas so it is safe to say I am not repurchasing this once again.
Bath and Body Works Mist in Venice Dolce Berry, Sparkling Blackberry Woods & Into Wild: Venice Dolce Berry is from the Bella Italy Collection of Bath and Body Works which all I really love but I finished up Rome Honeysuckle Amoré and Capri Seaside Citrus right away since my friends and family really loves it as well (we are sharing here people) hahaha! I wish they re-release this line once again. I will hoard it definitely. Haha!
Sparkling Blackberry Woods and Into The Wild I believe are main staples of Bath and Body Works. What interests me with these two is the Shea Butter content of it. I love Shea Butter a lot so whatever I see with something in it I buy it but I ended up only using 60% of it the %40 was my mom since she loves it as well.
So here you go, I hope you enjoyed this empties blog. All my insights here are my personal views on each products. Just remember, not all products really works for everyone like when something works out for me it might not work out for you or if something works out for you and might not work out for me but it doesn't really hurt to try right? Have a nice day everyone, love love! x
